An Editorial shoot for Moevir-Paris

Once in a while, I produce a shoot that really, truly comes together exactly how I wanted it to. This is a perfect example of that.

Very quickly I found myself on Pinterest putting together a moodboard inspired by the images in my head, and it wasn’t long before I’d contacted an incredible model friend to bring my vision to life.

It was an early morning, cold day in September - one of the first cold, long days that tells you winter is just around the corner. The sun was high in the sky, and there wasn’t a single cloud. There was no wind, it was honestly not what I had planned. We shot in that cold freezing weather, catching the first of the suns rays in downtown Salt Lake City.

I chose to shoot entirely on the 50mm 1.4 Zeiss - my go to lens The process of shooting with just one prime lens slows me right down. I’m not exaggerating when I say that as I started editing, I almost cried. After the year that 2020 has been, creating something that I love so much made all the difficult months, so, so, so worth it.

To top it off, to be given several page spreads in the Moevir-Paris Magazine was more than I could have dreamt of! So I must say a big thank you to them. Of course, I couldn’t have done it without the my friend Alexxis, who is always just as excited about my ideas as I am and she really gives it her all.
